Also known as: Giant Spotted Pitcher Plant, Raffles’ Tropical Pitcher, Spotted Peristome Nepenthes
Nepenthes rafflesiana is an eye-catching lowland–intermediate species from Borneo and Peninsular Malaysia, famed for its generously speckled pitchers and dramatically flared peristome. Lower pitchers are squat, bulbous, and boldly marked in maroon or purple blotches, while elegant green-tinged upper pitchers dangle high on vines. Fast-growing and adaptable, N. rafflesiana rewards attentive growers with some of the showiest traps in the genus.
