Drosera neocaledonica is a small, eye-catching sundew with upright, bright red leaves arranged in a neat rosette, each leaf lined with glistening mucilage droplets that shimmer like tiny rubies. Its compact form and vibrant colour make it stand out beautifully against pale, sandy soils.

This species is endemic to New Caledonia, where it grows in nutrient-poor, sandy or lateritic soils in open, sunny habitats with high rainfall.
