Setting Up Your Planted Aquarium
Discover the steps to create a lush, thriving underwater garden using Aqua Natural Iron Sand and Aqua Earth Soil.
Introduction
Setting up a planted aquarium is an exciting endeavor. In this post, we will guide you through using Aqua Natural Iron Sand capped with Aqua Earth Soil to create a nutrient-rich environment for your aquatic plants.

1. Base Layer of Soil
Start with a base layer of Aqua Earth Soil to provide your plants with essential nutrients and minerals. This layer helps stabilize the pH and hardness of your water, creating an ideal environment for plant growth.

2. Capping with Iron Sand
Cap the soil with Aqua Natural Iron Sand to prevent the soil from clouding the water. A 1-2 inch layer of sand not only helps in holding down the soil but also contributes additional nutrients like iron.

3. Planting Your Aquatic Plants
Plant your aquatic plants carefully using tweezers to avoid mixing the soil and sand layers. Ensure each plant is firmly placed to secure its root system.

4. Filling the Tank with Water
Fill your tank slowly to maintain the integrity of your layers. Using a plate or bag during filling can help diffuse the water flow and prevent substrate disturbance.

5. Final Setup and Maintenance
Once your tank is set up, monitor and adjust the water parameters as necessary (ie Add crushed coral to increase ph and driftwood to lower ph). Regular maintenance is crucial to ensure your aquatic garden remains healthy and vibrant.
